As many return from the fun and frolics of Summer in Marbella and the sun starts to fade, we welcome the dawn of an age gone by... the Return to Ladylike Glamour.

As many tire of street-style and going out in the clothes you've literally worn all day long in that "I'm-too-cool-to-get-changed-to-go-out" sort of way what flowed into the West-End from the creative shores of East London, the Fashion World and Fashion Forecasters have returned to the ethos that "to make and effort" is a good thing. Remember the days when you and your girlfriends used to get ready together, worrying about which dress you should wear with your new lipstick... well those days are back!

Autumn Winter 2008/9 will be remembered as the Statement Season, from coats & fabrics to heels & jewellery, together they will define the next fashion era as one of grown-up glamour, lady-like glamour. It's about looking like a Woman, a Lady, not a Glamour Model.

So here are some pointers on how to do the ladylike look.

• 1. Pick a dress that suits your figure (be honest with yourselves) the most popular for 2008 will be slim drapery dresses. 60's A-line shift and the full prom dress. The right dress will help you to feel confident, glamorous & sexy.
• 2. Don't be scared of wearing colour, this season the hottest looks will be in red/orange, purple/aubergine, inky blue, sea greens, apricot gold and winter white cream and taupe.
• 3. Invest in some heels (or have a root at the back of your wardrobe for your high heels). The hottest element of the statement shoe has been the new trend in wearing on your feet walk tall & proud like a real Lady does.
• 4. Get in the bath. Now this may sound cheeky, but ladylike glamour involves good grooming. Clean shiny hair; clean lacquered nails, pearly white teeth and a refined disposition!

• 5. Don't forget to let your make-up reflect this look. Skin should be clear & glowing. Whichever makeup style you chose, be it fresh feminine chic ? la Belle de Jour or 40s siren with Magenta red lips, sometimes less is more!.
• 6. Make going out more fun by getting ready with pals. This will really put you in the mood for dressing up, and sometimes bring out the competitive edge, nothing makes a woman try harder at looking good than another woman in the same room getting ready! (Now Ladies...no bitch fights!)
• 7. Remember being a true lady is having the air of grace, elegance & refinement, think old money (not new money!)
